This little landscape was the product of an afternoon workshop with Pat Bishop My local quilt guild invited her to do the session last October. You'll recognize her quilts with her signature abstract backgrounds made with strips and fabric scraps, which is what she taught us that day.
Here's one of her famous examples:
I wished I had brought some landscape pictures to use as reference while I was putting this together in class. I tossed it aside when I got home, but recently saw it again, and decided to make peace with it -- stitch down the strips, trim the edges, and add the little walking bear. It didn't take long.
Somewhere, she also gave us a bit of cardboard and picture wire to hang it. That has yet to resurface in my sewing room.
