My sweet 2nd-hand Newfie, Maggie always made me smile.
She died in December 2016, and this photo is one that I actually printed and framed simply because it made me smile. With her goofy Newfie cowlicks.
We had a special bond. Sigh!
Here's the new puppy, Sophie Blue -- because I can't live without a big, black dog in my life.
This is one of the most common puppy stances she takes, looking up at us with all her attention. Sweet puppy.

I am participating in Denise Love's 2017 "Let's Do 52 : 52 Weeks of Photo Prompts" to kick start the lull in my photography. If you'd like to join us, find out more at the link above. The more the merrier!

Oh, it is always hard to lose your dog companion. You are as bad as my late husband was. He could not go very long at all after losing a dog before bringing in the replacement pup. He often would get a head start by getting the replacement while the old dog could still "train" it. Really, it was just his way of softening the blow...
Such a mixture of news...I am so sorry to hear about Maggie. I am so sad for you and your family. It is hard to lose a pet. But then you have a new puppy for which I am happy for you and your family. You must really love this breed! I hope you continue to post pictures of Sophie as she grows. Best wishes in the coming months as you get through the puppy stages! Deb K.
