First Place for Fabric Portrait!

I was honored (and surprised!) to have won 1st Place in the Table Runner and Wall Hanging division of the judged quilt show at the 2007 Sewing Expo in Oshkosh, WI, March 16-17.

I won a basket chock-full of sewing notions!

As if that wasn't enough, I also won the new Viking Platinum sewing machine that Sew 'N Sew of Appleton donated for the event. They have also offered lessons to help me get acquainted with the new machine. Cool!

It's wonderful to have the validation that all the hours in the sewing room have been time well spent (not only for my mental well-being!)

I am so happy that you won! Now you can play with a new sewing machine, new notions/supplies and the thread calligraphy!
You were a joy to have in class, and it was a pleasure for Jim and I to meet you and get to know you alittle bit during the expo!

Michele--it's beautiful. Congratulations! What a major project. Hey and the kid looks like he's come out pretty
well too!

Congratulations, Michele! That's so terrific! The "Oliver" was incredible work so I am grateful that the judges saw that too.....AND winning the sewing machine too! Wow - whatta day!!!

Congrats, Buddy == you certainly do deserve that recognition for your artistry!

I think you would be a great quilt artist/teacher. It is something to
consider as a second career. Retire from librarianism early and start a
new career. How fun would that be!

Belated reply! But that is FANTASTIC!! Bigger pictures are certainly in order on line! I can't wait to see it in person.

Hi -- I just sent your portrait of Oliver to a friend and came
back to look again at the close ups. Wow!

congratulations! You are one talented woman!!
I wish I could see it up close, but even with as few pixals
as it has I'm just in awe of the bubbles and Oliver's
shirt, etc! Keep it up and you'll have many careers!
