Sweet Leaf Festival of 21 Journals : New Journals for 2015

These are some of the spines of the new journals lined up.  The Composed Fabric and Mixed Media Journals showing here.  The black lines are the threads by which the paper signatures have been sewn into the covers.  These journals are hand-made by me. Every one is one-of-a kind with a "serial" number.

I took 2014 off to develop some new product lines and improvements.
The big changes are :

1) The 2015 full-size journals have a pocket in the back -- just like Moleskins.   This suggestion came from my blogging friend Sheila over at Idaho Beauty's Creative Journey.  It took me a little while to develop the prototype for the pocket, and then figure out how to "mass" produce it in my small scale cottage industry.

2) The Composed Fabric Journals now use a silk overlay instead of the scratchy tulle.  It holds everything in, and just disappears, leaving a silky smooth feel to those covers.  A welcome improvement.

3)  The Tissue Paper Altered journals have lined paper.  A few people always ask for lined paper, so here it is.  Although the books are not hand-made, I've significantly added to the covers, and made them Sweet Leaf Notebooks.

My journals come in 2 basic sizes :
*  The 1/4-size on the left - so-called because the pages are the size of a regular 8-1/2 x 11 in pages folded into quarters.   These have 5 signatures with 100 pages total.  Approximately 6 in x 5-1/4 inches.
* The full-size journals are are twice that size.  The pages are 8-1/2 x 11 inches folded in half and hand sewn into the covers.  The larger journals all have 3 signatures with 60 pages total.  Approximately 9 in x 6-1/4 inches.

All Journals have a button closure to keep your treasures safe and secure.
The paper is Antique-Laid Linen Stationary with a wonderful creamy feel to it.

I made 21 new journals this year, so I'll be featuring each one in the coming days.  Stick around for a Sweet Leaf Festival of 21 Journals, aka Journal-Pa-Looza!

Oh, this is very exciting. Thumbs up on all the "improvements". That pocket looks very polished and should entice some sales that you otherwise might have missed. Still adore the tissue paper texture. Didn't realize you made these in two sizes - nice!
