Starlight Quilt

Remember the Winter Blues Quilt from back in January?  I mailed it off to my oldest and best friend who now lives in Idaho on a lovely little homestead where she keeps bees and chickens ...

She liked the quilt so much that she re-named it Starlight, likely due to the metallic fabrics that make it glow.

Lying in starlight
Covering a tattered skye
Layers of spring warmth.

She even wrote a haiku for it, falling asleep under it.  How many quilters can say that?

Skye is spelled correctly -- for Isle of Skye, as well as the name of another friend and quilter who gave them another quilt, well-used and now tattered.

Its also very unusual to give a quilt and to see it in it's new home.  Another reason to celebrate and give it it's very own post here on Sweet Leaf!

I couldn't help but note how beautifully the blue painting over the bed and the blue quilt "talk" to each other, set each other off.
